Datapoint Afrikaans/Passive constructions

Note that there are two passive auxiliaries; (a) word 'become' as the basic passive auxiliary, and (b) wees 'be' for the past/perfect of the passive. In infinitival contexts, things are more complicated though (cf. Donaldson 1993: 261–262).
Like its other Germanic relatives, but unlike English, Afrikaans also has an impersonal passive (cf. Example 184).
