Spanish is present in Belize, especially in the north (near Mexico) and the west (near Guatemala), and there are immigrants from Spanish-speaking countries in Belize. Many Belizeans in the border areas are bilingual, so there is possible Spanish influence on Belizean Creole. This is mostly represented in lexical borrowing.
