Datapoint Pidgin Hawaiian/Inclusive/exclusive distinction in independent personal pronouns

The inclusive forms were only marginally retained in the pidgin, and it is unclear whether this represented the preservation of the opposition as well. Example 29, however, demonstrates that the distinction was lost (as makou occurs where kakou would be expected), and this was the more general pattern in the pidgin.
