Datapoint Creolese/Domains of use: electronic media

Creolese can be used in advertisements and in the speech of people giving live interviews to the media at the scene of an incident. It is also used in programmes which are specifically designated as 'Folk' programmes such as 'Creole Meche-Meche' of the 1960s, 'Ganga Taak' of the 1970s and 1980s, etc, in which Creolese might be used both for narrative, as in the telling of 'Anansii' stories, and as the neutral broadcast language for the programme. Moreover, it is used in comedy on the electronic media.
