Because Ghanaian Pidgin English is still rather stigmatized and seen as a mark of illiteracy, it is not used as a language of instruction in schools.
Note, however, that secondary schools, especially the boarding schools, and tertiary educational institutions are the main settings where male students acquire Pidgin through interaction with other pupils or students.
