Pluralization through nominal reduplication is mostly found on a 19th century corpus of Diu Indo-Portuguese (Schuchardt 1883). The present-day corpus contains very few such examples, confined to the speech of one of the oldest members of the community and a poorly educated middle-aged man (whose deceased parents were described by their peers as having been among the last to speak what was perceived as an "older" stage of the language).
