Comment:
In the Colombo area dialect, seen in this example, what appears to be a negative auxiliary verb can be postposed. However, this is a contraction of tərə and the auxiliary aða which is only grammatical in the periphrastic perfect construction. In Kirinda, the analogous construction etutup təra may be characteristic of L2 speech.
