99 Verb doubling in temporal clauses

This feature is described more fully in chapter 99.

Summary

In some creole languages, a verb doubling construction can be used to express temporal adverbial clauses, and sometimes other types of subordinate clauses as well. An example from Haitian Creole is: Rive Jan rive (epi) Mari pati. ‘As soon as Jean arrived, Marie left.’
