In Gurindji Kriol there is some sematic overlap in the use of words for 'finger' and 'toe'. The term nantananta covers both 'finger' and 'toe', and ngatinyan can be used for both 'thumb' and 'big toe'. However it is more common to use the term wartan (< Gurindji, 'anything below elbow') for 'fingers', and fut ('anything below the knee') for 'toes'.
