In intervocalic position, [l] often alternates with [ð] or [ɾ]; cf. cada 'each' = ka[ɾ]a ~ ka[l]a ~ ka[ð]a.
Note also that there is single and geminate /l/ vs. /lː/, as explained in Schwegler (1998: 265f). Thus:
Spanish cara > Pal. kala
Spanish Carla > Pal. kalla [kalːa].
