Datapoint Nengee/Social variation: lexicon

There is greater use of Dutch or French elements among educated speakers; however, this appears to be rather a case of code-mixing.

Older (male) members of the community typically make much greater use of the variety loosely called lesipeki fasi (Migge 2004; Léglise & Migge 2007) which is mostly characterized by specific discursive and lexical forms associated with negative politeness practices.
