Datapoint Afrikaans/Expletive subject in ‘seem’ constructions

This construction, with skyn ('seem') is a high register one. And the same is true for blyk ('appear'). In the spoken language, speakers are more inclined to use lyk my [seem to.me] or lyk asof [look as.if].
