Datapoint Kriol/Language abandonment
The only likely scenario of abandonment would be a shift to Standard Australian English. While there are probably individuals who abandon Kriol for English in order to gain education and employment benefits (which would also be associated with mobility), there is currently no evidence that such a shift is taking place on a community-wide scale.
