Datapoint Kriol/Verb doubling and focus
Verb focusing is not achieved by repetition or reduplication, but by accenting and/or the use of the particle na 'now', which may have a contrastive focus marking function but, as many of the examples show, also a temporal function and indicates shifted topics (Graber 1987).
