Datapoint Chinese Pidgin English/Definite articles

Most of the definite articles in the English texts of Tong (1862) are not rendered in the Chinese Pidgin English versions, showing that bare noun phrases can be interpreted as definite. The demonstrative that/dat is occasionally used as a definite article.
