Datapoint Sranan/Proportion of native speakers

A full survey of language use has yet to be done. But in a survey of school children conducted by Léglise & Migge (2010), many children declared Sranan to be their L2.
Virtually all speakers seem to acquire Sranan Tongo as small children, but many acquire it as a second language, after acquiring Dutch or one of the maroon creoles or ethnic languages as a first language.
