Datapoint Nigerian Pidgin/Domains of use: radio and TV news
For decades, Nigerian Pidgin has been used alongside other Nigerian languages and English several times each day for both radio and television newscasts, especially in the south of the country. Usually, the newscast is first given in English, then a translation of the same newscast is given in Nigerian Pidgin and other Nigerian languages, such as Yoruba, Igbo, Edo, Efik/Ibibio, dialects of Ijo,etc.
