Datapoint Nicaraguan Creole English/Geographic variation: lexicon

Variation appears to be due to the input in the language contact situation, not geographical differenciation (see also Feature "Geographic variation: phonology" and Feature "Geographic variation: morphosyntax"). Holm (1983:115) indicates that certain words and phrases in Rama Cay Creole English are probably loans and calques from German, e.g. for three days 'three days ago' (cf. German vor drei Tagen), puuti 'partridge' (German Pute), etc.
