Comment:
Even though the verb tusar- in Eskimo means 'hear', Stefánsson (1909: 231) insists that Eskimo Pidgin tusara almost always is used in the sense of 'know' or 'understand', and rarely, if ever, for 'hear'. With regard to this very example he comments that the meaning 'I hear a man talking' is implied.
