Datapoint Mauritian Creole/h - voiceless glottal fricative

With the exception of Hindi (a prestige word for many Mauritians), [h] is rarely pronounced even in words recently adopted from English or Indic sources. However, [h] does now occur frequently as an allophone of /s/ in the word /sa/ 'that' (demonstrative), a development first noted only in the 1980s.
