Datapoint Mauritian Creole/ŋ - voiced velar nasal

An allophone of /n/ when followed by a velar plosive. However, it also occurs with greater frequency in two other circumstances: (1) in a wide range of words of non-French origin, and (2) in words of French origin where there had been an across-the-board shift fron nasal vowel + /g/ to corresponding oral vowel + velar nasal.
