In old Louisiana Creole only Value 1 is attested (see under More lects). Surpass marking is still attested in Pointe Coupee today but not in Breaux Bridge (Neumann-Holzschuh (1987: 14): Torti la galopé pli vite pacé stimbotte 'This turtle runs faster than a steamboat.' )
