Datapoint Ghanaian Pidgin English/Domains of use: public contexts

Because Ghanaian Pidgin English is still rather stigmatized and seen as a mark of illiteracy, it is not generally used in banks or the post office. However, because of the face-to-face character of linguistic interaction in these institutions, Pidgin probably has a somewhat limited frequency in these settings, depending on the educational background of the customer and on how well the customer and the clerk know each other (since one of the main functions of the educated variety of Ghanaian Pidgin English is that of a bonding device).
