Example 59-204

mbito asara ala
mbito
fear
a-sara
pm-do
ala
3pl
They're afraid.
Comment:
The verb sara 'do', adopted from some Bantu language, appears in many constructions, some of them apparently to make up for the loss of the Ngbandi word in pidginization. Although the equivalent expression in Gbaya is the same, I doubt very much that the use of 'do' in Gbaya has been borrowed. The verb gbo 'seize' can be used instead of sara 'do.'
