The blue ribbon was the symbol of the temperance movement.
19th-century texts are written in a missionary-inspired diglossic high and do not represent the spoken vernacular of the time. So this is only an indication that there might be a separate word for 'blue'. Unfortunately this word was not elicited during fieldwork.
